SO CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR, CANUCKS LOSE GAME 2; SERIES TIED 1-1

CANUCKS LOSE GAME 2 AGAINST THE BLACKHAWKS 6-3

The Vancouver Canucks came off a 5-3 victory in Game 1 with all sorts of confidence, but it was the Blackhawks who told the story. The Blackhawks were able to complete another comeback after falling from behind by 2 goals and was able to defeat the Canucks 6-3 in GM Place.

After scoring 2 goals in the 1st Period from Chicago's penalty troubles, the Vancouver Canucks weren't able to hold off the Chicago Blackhawks as they stormed over the Canucks after scoring 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd Period to take the lead 3-2 going into the 3rd. As everyone was looking for a turning point in the game, it made no difference as Chicago scores two more unanswered goals which made the matchup 5-2. The Canucks finally answered back with a powerplay goal but were unable to complete their comeback as the Blackhawks netted an empty net goal.

The goal scorers in the game was Sami Salo and Alex Edler both on the powerplay in the 1st Period. Then Patrick Sharp nets two goals and one on the powerplay to make the game tied up, which was followed up by David Bolland's late goal in the 2nd which made the game 3-2. In the 3rd Ben Eager and Patrick Kane both scored to make things 5-2, and then Henrik Sedin scores from a Mats Sundin pass on the powerplay to make it 5-3. But after pulling Roberto Luongo with 2:25 left in the 3rd, Vancouver failed to complete the comeback as David Bolland netted an empty netter from center ice to put things away 6-3.

Both teams exchanged their words together as they both heats things up to what is going to be an interesting Game 3 in Chicago. The series are now tied at 1-1 and the Chicago Blackhawks take advantage of that as they will host Game 3 in Chicago @ the United Center with over 22 thousand fans in support.
